|Michael Wearne a perfect fit for Eastern Washington University|
Michael Wearne, the 6'1 guard from Melbourne, officially signed with Eastern Washington University last Wednesday night, he has been described as 'a perfect fit'. Michael committed to Eastern Washington in October.

Flying Start Fashion Excursion
The Fashion World of Jean Pul Gaultier, From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk is being held at the National Gallery of Victoria International St Kilda Road. Students had the opportunity to view this inspiring and very innovative collection. The highlights of the day were the introductory talk on Gaultier and a creative workshop where the students were able to explore his design process. Patrons were delighted as students showcased their artwork on the gold mirror carousel in the federation court at the NGV international. View more photos here....

We are excited at the inclusion of Robbie Gray (half forward flank) and Nick Malceski (half back flank) in this illustrious side. Two inclusions in the All Australian Team is no mean feat.

No Place Like Home - Ben Simmons back at Box Hill
Last week, the talented teen suited up for his former school BHSSC for a practice match against Victoria University. "I played with a few of the guys from my past Year 9 group, it was good to play with them. We wanted to have fun and we wanted to win." Ben said. Ben has a year left of high school at Montverde in the US and is committed to play at Louisiana University from the end of next year.

Congratulations to Rachel Limburg who participated in the School Sports Victoria finals recently. She achieved fist place in Under 17 High Jump, Long Jump, 100m Hurdles and scored a record breaking 12.45m in Shot put.

Natasha Morey chosen for the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra 2015
Each year, Rotary through an extensive series of interviews, chooses a select group of high achieving students from around Australia to take part in the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra over Summer. The process is highly competitive with a large contingent of private school students vying for the available places. The chosen students attend the Australian National University in January 2015 for a week of field work, research, lectures and future planning related to science. Natasha Morey (Year 11 Chemistry, Biology, Physics) has been selected to attend the National Youth Science Forum 2015. Congratulations Tash!
Brit recently spent the day at the Olympic Academy, where she got to meet and talk with current and past Olympians as well as participating in a number of workshops led by these Olympians. Brit heard the Olympians talk about the kinds of challenges that she is facing, particularly finding balance in life, among all the demands faced by elite athletes, especially those still at school. Brit received a certificate and a Victorian Olympic Council pin/badge.
2013 Year 12 Results
Congratulations to all our Year 12s for their success in 2014. Study scores of 40 and above, placing students in the top 8% in the State, were achieved across all learning areas. The College is pleased to report a 98% VCE completion rate.
Congratulations to Jack Fleming (pictured on the right), the Dux of Box Hill Senior Secondary College!
Jack joined the College in Year 10 as a member of the Basketball Program. He has combined his sporting and academic goals with great success, receiving recognition for outstanding achievement in every year of his education at Box Hill Senior Secondary College.
Jack excelled in Physical Education, Biology, Further Mathematics, Maths Methods, English and Legal Studies.
Jack, the College is proud of your hard work and success and we wish you all the best in 2014.
Congratulations to Local Sporting Champions Grant recipient - Dylan Donnelly
Congratulations to Dylan (Year 9 MYSC 2014) on his recent award! Dylan is 1 of the 10 local sporting champions grant recipients in the La Trobe electorate. Dylan was presented with his award by Mr Jason Wood MP (pictured left). Dylan was selected because of outstanding performance in basketball.

LEAH MILBURN-CLARK! (Year 12 2013)
TOP CLASS DEMONSTRATES THE INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF ACTORS AND THEATRE MAKERS.
Leah was selected to perform her drama solo for the VCAA SEASON OF EXCELLENCE held at the MELBOURNE RECITAL CENTRE on 30th April.
Leah received an outstanding score for her performance in the 2013 OCTOBER VCAA PERFORMANCE EXAM and was one of only 27 students from across the state who made it to this stage.
It is also a credit to Leah that she was asked to present a short speech about the preparation and challenges of producing her Solo piece. She spoke insightfully and humorously about her process. Leah was an inspiring example for the younger audience of Drama students.
Megan Borondy at National Youth Science Forum Januuary 2014
Megan Borondy (Year 12 2014) flew to Perth on 6 January 2014, to attend the National Youth Science Forum. Top Science students were selected from around Australia to participate in this event at the University of Western Austraila.
Megan examined 500 year old ice, tested for atmospheric bubbles. She visited Alcoa mines to learn about environmental rehabilitation and completed a medical research boot camp. Megan has made a network of friends from across the Nation and the experience has confirmed her passion for a future in medical research.
This opportunity was provided through the generosity of the Upper Yarra Rotary Club.
Year 12 Music student Odette Grummisch featured on the front page of the Whitehorse Leader recently. Odette performed her fourth State School Spectacular on July 27th. She took a lead role in the production, which involved a principle cast of 47 singers, dancers and beat boxers. Her performance to an audience of over 10,000 at Hisense Arena was breathtaking.
