Student Leadership, Voice and Agency is an important part of student life at Box Hill Senior Secondary College. Students have an opportunity to hold college leadership positions or work with a team of others as student representatives. Our student leadership and representative program enables students to have a voice in college events and participate in a range of diverse initiatives. These initiatives are designed to promote connectedness and wellbeing throughout the college.
College Leaders
The Student Leadership team has student representatives from all year levels. These students become involved in one or more of the four focus areas:
- College Environment
- Wellbeing
- Community
- College Events
- Marketing and Entrepreneurial opportunities
These areas of focus enable student involvement and facilitation of Year Level Assemblies, the Annual Celebration dinner, Year 12 Formal, Anzac Day Ceremony, Interest Groups and Commemorative jumpers. The Committee also works to encourage peer support within the Advocacy program. Application for student leadership occurs in term 4 of the year prior to holding office.
Student Representatives
Student Representatives are self-appointed passionate students who take on portfolio based / working group focused roles within an established portfolio held by a college leader. Student Representatives are led by our Student Leaders and provide opportunities for interested groups to work together to solve / address an area of common interest. This may include school formals, fundraising and school ambassador roles at promotional and community events.
